IPL 2026 Match 36 - RR vs SRH Pink City Showdown

📅 2026-04-23 • ✍️ IPL 2026

The most volatile battle of the Indian Premier League is on the hype again. On the Night before tomorrow, the floodlights at the historic Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad come to a collision in what is likely to be one of the most electric matches of IPL 2026. Each team comes with hot form, star names, and even larger scores. However, it is more than just the figures, this is a score to settle - and Rajasthan Royals want revenge.

Castle of the Royalty

The Sawai Mansingh Stadium is the best place to regain confidence in the world of cricket. The field here is a paradise for the batman player--so quick in the outfield, so short in boundaries, so smooth in surface, that it seems to take big hits the first time. A score of over 185 is the average and the dew factor during the second innings makes life much easier to the chasing team. Look to both captains to look as keenly at the toss as possible, and to decide to bowl first in the event of winning.

The weather will be scorching- temperatures will rise between 41-43c in Jaipur on Saturday, and it will be one of the most challenging in the whole tournament. To a Rajasthan team that will be playing at home, in front of a crowd full of partisan fans, that heat will be a bonus.

Rajasthan Royals: The Home Lions

Yashasvi Jaiswal carries the heavy load of the batting of RR, and what shoulders they are. With 245 left hand hits in 7 innings, the glittering left hander has an impressive strike rate of 155.09, which any batter would be proud of. RR are virtually invincible when Jaiswal shoots. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has provided the top order with a fearless, freewheeling energy which sets the tone, along with him.

The promotion of Dhruv Jurel to number three has been a very fruitful decision, 181 runs in 7 innings a good reward, but he has had less to say in recent matches, and will be eager to regain his old style. The only worry of skipper Riyan Parag is his batting. Only 80 in 7 innings is a nightmare to a captain and a big knock by the Guwahati dasher is so much overdue.

RR are also proud of one of the most hazardous attacks in the competition using the ball. Jofra Archer is a wrecking ball - 11 wickets with a strike rate that is causing batters to dread the first over. His scalding 3/20 against LSG served to remind him of what he can do. Ravi Bishnoi, replicates those figures with 11 wickets of his own and twisting the game on the middle overs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: Full Confidence

Do not be misled by the revenge story of RR vs SRH going to Jaipur in great shape, having won the three previous IPL Match in a row. The explosiveness of the top two batters (Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma) gives them the potential to score upwards of 70-80 runs off each other's batting in the first 6 overs (Powerplay); those two players undoubtedly provide each other the opportunity to produce runs against any team on any night. In addition, while the RR top-order continue to perform strongly, Ishan Kishan has shown great confidence in his role as captain and managed both his team members and resources very well while leading the RR to success as captain.

The bowling unit is even more impressive. Sakib Hussain (6 wickets in 3 matches), Praful Hinge and left arm chinaman Shivang Kumar (5 wickets in 6 matches) bring in new players and unpredictability. Above all, Pat Cummins, who is among the best death bowlers in the game is likely to be back in the XI, providing SRH with a true end-to-end firepower.

Conclusion

This is a tooth-slicker IPL match that has the potential to swing either way. The fact that SRH has been victorious lately, and that their bowling attack is also in form makes them a deadly deal. However, home advantage, a roaring and enthusiastic Jaipur crowd, and the hunger of a team that is dying to get even with a big loss all tilt the balance a little towards RR.

Jaiswal deserves a big innings. Archer might be able to run through the SRH top order early.

Winner: Sunrisers Hyderabad
